School Street Market

School Street Market is located at “72 School Street” in Freeport, Nova Scotia. Freeport is a small village by the sea, at the very end of Long Island, Digby County. Long and Brier Island are Nova Scotia’s premier ecotourism destination, surrounded by the ocean and nature, with many hiking trails, whale watching adventures, bird watching, and home of the “Balancing Rock”.

Stop by for Lunch – School Street Market offers a daily lunch special from Mon-Fri starting @ 11:30am. Menu changes weekly, often rotating customer favorites with new recipes. Some of the community favorites are our “Coconut Curry Chicken” and “Beef Chili”. Limited quantities of the daily special are made each day, and sometimes we sell out quite quickly. Other times our “Lunch Special” left overs can be found in the “Grab n’Go” cooler, in microwavable containers. A microwave is available in our seating area for reheating any items from our “Grab n’Go” section. We also serve Pizza by the Slice starting @ 11:30 am, Monday – Saturday.

Stop In For A Coffee - We have self serve & freshly brewed locally roasted fair trade organic coffee from "Sissiboo Coffee Roasters" available any time of day. Have a coffee and/or snack in our seating area, or at one of the outdoor picnic tables and enjoy the spectacular view of the cove.

Our Grab n’Go cooler offers quick & easy convenient meals & snacks, for any time of day. Here you can find salads, fresh sandwiches, and healthy choices to eat on the go.

ICE CREAM is available by the scoop. We serve FARMERS brand ice cream, and have 9 flavors to choose from, that rotate often. We make Milkshakes, Sundaes, Floats, and Banana Splits with a variety of topping choices.

SUMMER DRINKS are available, only for the summer months. Homemade Lemonade from freshly squeezed lemons, Cold Brewed Iced Coffee and Tea with flavor shots available for a custom refreshing beverage.

TAKE-OUT PIZZA is available in Spring/Summer from Tuesday thru Saturday, from 3pm-8pm. .Fall/Winter from Wednesday thru Saturday from 4pm-8pm. Order cut off time is 7:30 pm.We offer custom pizzas in 9″, 12″ or 15″ sizes. We also offer garlic fingers, donair pizza, nacho pizza and our ever popular “bacon cheeseburger pizza”.

School Street Market is primarily a convenience store. We have a large variety of grocery items, including fresh produce, baked goods, dairy, meats etc. We have a small hardware/household section carrying useful items, such as duct tape, automotive needs, glues, light bulbs, painting supplies, fishing gloves & much more. We also carry fireworks, otc medications, and personal care items. We also sell/exchange BBQ propane tanks & much more.
